Kindness And Generosity

THANK YOU

I was tired after work last week and backed the car into another car. I was calm and gave her my name, address and mobile phone. When I came home I thought about it about 15 minutes. My conclusion was that I was tired and unattentive, and I wrote a blog about Inattentive Driving. Then I forgot about the whole episode until today.

Today I receive the following sms from her:

Hello,

You backed the car into my car last week. Let’s forget the accident. I have an old car and do not care about the damages. Have a nice day and drive safely!

An episode that could have lead to unhappiness for both, has instead given many benefits.
First, it has strenghtened my faith that most people are good-hearted and forgiving.
Second, it has given me a lesson about driving more safely and with increased awareness.
Third, it reminds me about the kindness and generosity of all the people I’ve meet in life, and that I can show gratitude by being patient, generous and benefit others when I have the opportunity.

With love
